Fiber Optic Splicer School

    Students are encouraged to bring any tools and equipment they already have for evaluation and comment by the instructor

    Fiber Optic Splicing and Testing for the Telephone Technician:

• Day 1 - Classroom (see Fiber Optic Technology course contents)
• Day 2 - Cable and Closure Practical Exercises - students practice cable entry, closure preparation, and splice tray preparation
• Day 3 - Splicing by students using cleavers, mechanical splices, and fusion splicing equipment. Demonstration of fusion splicer maintenance, shrink sleeves, OFAT tools, splicing pigtails, CO entry splicing
• Day 4 - Fiber Optic Testing and Troubleshooting (see coursework by that name)

    "A Class Designed Specifically for Independent
Telephone Company Technical Staff"

    This class is a four-day school designed to give the students hand's on experience with closure prep, splicing, and testing. This class is generally presented on-site, and concentrates on cable, closures, and tools specific to that company.
